We have a continued interest in seeing that these programs continue to grow and be an asset to the community.

Lakeshore Resource Network

The Lakeshore Resource Network is Coming May 2017 to Mason County.

This project aims to support the Greatest Needs by improving access to services for basic needs, education, financial stability, and health. The Lakeshore Resource Network is designed to not only give fish, but to teach how to fish.

The Lakeshore Resource Network will be home to the Lakeshore Food Club, a community based food club providing food security to local families. Other tenants of the Network include the Pennies from Heaven Foundation, The United Way of Mason County, Michigan Work West Central, American Red Cross. True North Community Service, Staircase Youth Services and more.

Neighbor to Neighbor

Neighbor to Neighbor is a volunteer initiative supported by the Habitat for Humanity of Mason County, Pennies From Heaven Foundation, Michigan State University Extension and the Mason County Housing Task Force. We partnered with the Habitat for Humanity Neighbor Revitalization Program to bring additional funding and volunteers to help fix up local neighborhoods. The idea behind this initiative is to clean up blighted houses in the area to give neighborhood pride and property values that need a little boost. These houses are privately owned, and each homeowner is contributing financially and assisting in fixing up their homes. All homeowners are also required to attend a home-ownership classes through MSU Extension in order to qualify.
